Art update - Rustam, Key NPC

In anticipation of our Spring 2025 release window, we wanted to share some artwork updates of what you can expect when you play Under the desert sun! Over the next few months, we will be sharing samples of character artwork and maps to showcase what we're offering at JAY Games.

In this post, meet Rustam, Proprietor of The Emporium - an enigmatic figure beloved by all in Kazgar (or so they say...) who keeps the candles burning in his bazaar for any and all to stop by for whatever they may need. Rustam is Tarazi, one of the two playable people groups in Under the desert sun. Additionally, Rustamis a Key NPC - one of the three NPC types that are found in all JAY Games. Rustam is central to the plot - your Party will encounter them when you need guidance - and they may just be the key to your victory.

All character artwork for Under the desert sun is designed by Celestine Nox, a fantastic artist and Game Master! Celestine owns the IP for all of their art and is participating in profit-sharing for all Game sales/publications and paid-play experiences. At JAY Games, we believe in fairly compensating artists for their individual work and are committed to never using AI - as part of this commitment, all artists receive shared profits from sales of the Game, paid-play experiences, and any other publications that feature their art. We believe that this collaborative partnership helps build the best immersive world for Players to experience our stories - and separates us from other game development companies.
