JAY Games™ - Just As Yourself™ - is based on two things: your imagination and storytelling. Using only 1 d20, 1 d6, and single-page playbooks, Play experiences bring Players into a unique world governed only by the limits of Player imagination.
What separates JAY Games from other TTRPGs is simplicity - for both Players and the Meddah, the game manager. We've removed nearly all math, streamlined character creation, and poured years of development into a fantasy world that lets everyone, regardless of skill or familiarity, enjoy a story in a safe, affirming environment.
The defining feature of JAY Games is the abscence of Player death as the final ending. That's not fun, and it's quite boring. TPKs are nearly impossible through the use of the Araf, the realm between the living world and Cennet, the world beyond. Players who pass in the living world enter the Araf and are offered two opportunities - gamble with their fate and return immediately to the living world or pass on to Cennet and become a djinn to aid their party by channeling insight through other Players and influencing in-game activities directly.
Our innaugural release - Under the desert sun, a Qán adventure™ - is coming in Spring 2025 for purchase in both Player and Meddah packages. Playtests have been underway for two years and are continuing on StartPlaying.Games this fall.
It's been 5,000 years since the rains disappeared, transforming the fertile land into a desolate desert expanse. Their return was supposed to be a prophesy of blessings and abundance - but with it came the Qaytish - the Return. Of what? The Qán? Or of something worse...
